I was asked to scan my ID, why?

While you were signing up for a Lowe’s PreLoad account, you were asked to scan a photo copy of a government issued ID. There are a few reasons why this may have occurred:

  • Information was omitted

  • Information has been mistyped

  • Information has been falsified

  • Additional information is required by federal law for CIP (Customer Identification Program)

  • To learn more about our CIP - Customer Identification Program please visit here.

Follow the prompts to send a picture of an unexpired government issued ID with your photograph (front and back) via your mobile device.  You may submit:

  • Driver’s License (U.S. state or foreign)

  • Passport (U.S. or foreign)

  • U.S. state-issued ID card

  • U.S. military ID card

  • Native American tribal ID card

  • Mexican Consular ID card

  • Alien ID, such as a green card or work Visa

  • Any other valid, unexpired government issued ID card bearing a photograph or other biometric identifier
